Push'n'Tumble, first release for Falling Block Jam 2025

Push’n’Tumble, first public release. The game is far from finished, but it’s a working MVP, in time to send into the Falling Block Jam 2025.
This is a game idea I wanted to do for a while. It’s basically an up-side-down version of Puyo Puyo, loosly based on my other game Corner Connect, where the rows and columns of discs can be pushed and can discs fall down.
I could only work on it for a couple of days, this so it is far from finised. Thanks to Mr Union for providing the music in such a short time.
The main thing missing is a game design element; the blocks aren’t falling so there needs to be some sort of timer event to force the player to insert the discs. Other post-Jam features I still want to add are:
- Timer event to force players to inserting discs
- Slowly increase the difficulty.. somehow?
- Proper rotation animation (instead of instant flips)
- More predictable collapsing order (after getting a match fall left-down or right-down now seems random)
- See next piece + swap
- Touch/mouse controls
- Improved graphics (replace the placeholder discs)
- More “game juice” (particles, animated combo scores etc)
- Animated how-to tutorial
- Puzzle mode?
